BAS 1
The South Wales League would like to thank the drivers, spectators, friends
and families who supported us at the opening round of the 2010 British
Autograss Series. Despite a scare first thing with the fog on the Saturday
morning, everything ran pretty smoothly and it seems the majority had a good
weekend. Everyone had their heats of 4 and 3/4 laps, and finals of 6 and 3/4
and was concluded just after 6 on Sunday. 504 Cars and 629 drivers attended
our meeting. We hope to see some visitors return during the season, and
especially at our "Fastest Person on Welsh Grass" meeting, which will be
held on October 2nd/3rd.

9am or will forfeit the next race meeting)

from other members.
South Wales League Town Centre Display
Here are some photos taken on Saturday April 3rd at Carmarthen. The league
would like to thank to everybody who helped in anyway with the display.

Photos by Louise Jones & Gary
Jones Rally Pics. Gary has written an article to be put on a Welsh
Motorsport website, many thanks to Gary. Read it here.
http://wheelswithinwales.co.uk/articles/20100405_1
Unfortunately, the South Wales League's race
meeting (Easter Sunday) has had to be called off
due to the weather conditions running up to the meeting.
The display in Carmarthen town centre is still (so far) going ahead. If this
changes then I'll add a post later on in the day.

There will be a meeting on April 13th at the White Lion Pwll Trap, if there
is any league member who has issues/opinions on any subject that they want
to be put on the agenda, please forward them to me at
garethta111@aol.com
Otherwise, please make sure you attend as the BAS round is now looming and
things need to be finalized, and as many league members as possible can be
informed of all goings on.
Carmarthen Town Display
The league will be displaying some cars at Carmarthen Town Centre on Easter
Saturday (April 3rd) - we would like one car from each class, and at least
one car from each club if possible. If you're interested in displaying your
car for the public to see, contact Phil Olsson on 07814 143071. With the
time getting nearer, please don't leave it too late so that logistical
issues can be sorted out well enough in advance.

March 14th Meeting is Off!!
Seems like a recurring theme at the start of the season, but the meeting on
March 14th has been called off. There will be a work party on that day at
10am and members are asked to bring paint brushes etc. For any further info,
contact Manfred or Oily.
Track Day
Another track day has been organised this Sunday (March 7th) to finish the
field before racing on the 14th.
2010 Fixtures
There has been an alteration to this year's Fixtures. Fixtures for 2010 are
now as follows.
March 14th, March 28th, April 4th, May 16th, June 13th, August 15th.
Instead of the September meeting, the league will now host a "Fastest Person
on Welsh Grass" meeting on October 2nd/3rd. Details of this meeting will
follow nearer the time.
Carmarthen Town Centre Display
The league are looking into the possibility of a static car display (similar
to NEC) at Carmarthen Town Centre on April 3rd (Easter Saturday) to promote
the Easter Sunday meeting, and the 2010 Fixtures from then on in. We hope to
have a variety of cars, from all four clubs on display, with the hope to
have one car from each class on show. If you would like your car to be part
of this display, or have ramps/display boards etc that the league could use
to promote the sport, or any further information, please contact Phil Olsson
(CM27) on 07814 143071.
